What Is Vegas Scoring in Klondike Solitaire?

Vegas is a Klondike mode that treats every game as a bet. You pay to start, win points for each card you get to the foundations, and have only a few passes through the stock. This page gives the exact numbers used in Solitaire Play.

The rules of Vegas

The tableau, the building rules and the foundations are the same as in normal Klondike.

What the score means

Your score is 5 times the number of cards on the foundations, minus 52. You are in profit once you have 11 cards up, and a complete game ends well above zero. A lost game keeps the cards you sent up, so a score can finish negative.

The score depends only on how many cards are on the foundations, so there is no time bonus. The one hard limit is the three passes through the stock.

Vegas deals are random

Our proven-winnable library was built without a limit on passes, so it cannot promise that a Vegas deal can be won. Vegas games therefore use random deals. Change the mode from the mode button or the menu; a new game starts. The normal scoring system is explained in Klondike scoring: how points work.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Vegas game cost in Solitaire Play?

The buy-in is 52, taken off your score at the start. Each card on a foundation then adds 5.

Three times in total, turning three cards at a time.

Can I win every Vegas deal?

No. Vegas uses random deals and a limit on stock passes, so some deals cannot be won.
