How to Undo a Move in Solitaire
Every game on Solitaire Play lets you take back moves, so you can test an idea without risk. Here is how to undo, redo, ask for a hint, and replay a deal from the start.
Undo and redo
- Undo: press the Undo button, or the U key, or Ctrl+Z.
- Redo: press the Redo button, or the Y key, or Ctrl+Shift+Z.
You can undo many moves in a row (up to 500), so exploring a line and backing out is part of normal play.
Hint, new deal and restart
- Hint: the Hint button or the H key suggests a move.
- New deal: the N key starts a new game.
- Restart this deal: open the menu and choose it to replay the same deal from the beginning. A restart does not record a loss.
Going back to a position that can be won
If you are not sure where a game went wrong, open the menu and choose Solver. It can tell you whether the position can still be won, and it can take you back to an earlier position that can. Games finished with the solver's help are not counted in your stats. For more on playing well, see the Klondike, FreeCell and Spider guides.
