Free Golf Solitaire Online
Golf is a quick solitaire game of runs: clear seven columns of cards by playing cards one rank higher or lower than the card on the waste. Solitaire Play offers Golf in your browser for free, with Hint, Undo and a daily challenge, and no download or sign-up.
Official Rules & Scoring
The goal is to move all 35 cards from the seven columns to the waste pile. Each column starts with five face-up cards, and the other 17 cards form the stock; one of them starts face up on the waste.
- Columns: only the bottom card of each column can be played. All cards are face up, so you can plan ahead.
- Playing: tap (or drag) a bottom card that is exactly one rank higher or lower than the top waste card. Suits do not matter. The card moves to the waste and becomes the new card to match.
- Runs: you can keep going up or down as long as the next bottom card fits. Ace and King are not neighbours here, so a run stops at a King going up and at an Ace going down.
- Stock: when no card fits, tap the stock to turn the next card onto the waste. There is no redeal.
- Winning: you win when all seven columns are empty. Cards left in the stock do not matter; if the stock runs out and nothing fits, the deal is lost.
Strategy & Tips
- Plan the whole run. several columns often fit the waste card; follow the one that lets you keep going longest.
- Empty a column when you can. a short column means fewer buried cards to worry about.
- Watch both neighbours. a 7 on the waste takes a 6 or an 8; keep both options alive when you can.
- Save the stock. only turn a stock card when nothing fits; each stock card is a chance to start a new run.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can every Golf deal be won?
Yes. New games and the daily challenge only use deals that our solver has proved winnable (it found a full winning line within its search limit, and the line was replayed move by move). About 18% of the random Golf deals we screened passed, and only those are kept, because many random Golf deals cannot be won. Winnable does not mean easy: the solver sees the whole stock, and you do not.
Do Ace and King connect?
No. Ace and King are not neighbours here, so a King cannot be followed by an Ace.
Can I redeal the stock?
No. Each stock card is turned over once.
