Free Spiderette Solitaire Online (1, 2 and 4 Suits)
Spiderette is Spider Solitaire played with a single deck: seven columns, a short stock and the same goal of building full runs from King down to Ace. Solitaire Play offers Spiderette in your browser for free, in 1-suit, 2-suit and 4-suit modes, with Hint, Undo and a daily challenge, and no download or sign-up.
Official Rules & Scoring
The goal is to build four complete runs of the same suit, from King down to Ace. Each finished run leaves the table automatically, and you win when all four are gone. The game uses one 52-card deck. In 1-suit mode all cards count as spades, in 2-suit mode as spades and hearts, and in 4-suit mode as the four normal suits.
- Layout: seven columns are dealt with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 cards. Only the last card of each column is face up. The remaining 24 cards form the stock.
- Building: place a card on a card one rank higher, in any suit.
- Moving: you can move one card or a run of cards that are all in the same suit and in descending order. A card or run can go onto a card one rank higher, or into an empty column.
- Empty columns: an empty column accepts any card or any same-suit run.
- Dealing: click the stock to deal one card face up onto each column. There are four deals: three of seven cards, and a last one of three cards that goes onto the first three columns. You cannot deal while any column is empty. There is no redeal.
- Completed runs: when a King-to-Ace run of one suit is built, all 13 cards move off the table at once.
- Winning: you win when all four runs are complete.
Strategy & Tips
- Empty a column early. an empty column is the most valuable tool: it lets you rearrange runs and lets you deal once every column is filled again.
- Build in one suit whenever you can. mixed-suit stacks cannot be moved as a whole, so they block cards underneath.
- Turn over hidden cards before dealing. a deal buries every column, so use the moves you have first.
- Be careful with 4 suits. the deck has only one card of each rank per suit, so one wrong stack can end the game.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can every Spiderette deal be won?
No, and the harder the mode, the fewer. New games and the daily challenge only use deals that our solver has proved winnable within its search limit (it found a full winning line, and the line was replayed move by move). In our screening of 4,000 random deals per mode, about 97% passed in 1-suit mode, about 80% in 2-suit mode and about 24% in 4-suit mode. A deal the solver could not prove may still be winnable, so these figures are lower bounds. Winnable does not mean easy: the solver plans every move perfectly.
What is the difference between Spiderette and Spider?
Spider uses two decks, ten columns and 104 cards. Spiderette uses one deck, seven columns and 52 cards, so it is shorter and has only four runs to build. The moving and dealing rules are the same, except that Spiderette's last deal has only three cards.
Can I deal when a column is empty?
No. Every column must have at least one card before you can deal from the stock. Move a card into the empty column first.
